Executive Director of The Healing Place and CARITAS Receives Governor’s Appointment

On October 1, 2010 Karen Stanley, Executive Director of The Healing Place and CARITAS was one of 15 individuals appointed to serve on the Governor’s Advisory Board on Volunteerism and National Service. This board has seven specific duties, two of which include the following: To promote the expansion of AmeriCorps programs to meet Virginia’s most pressing human, educational, environmental, and public safety needs and To promote and coordinate State programs offering opportunities for community service within the Commonwealth. These are vital to the continued success of programs like The Healing Place and CARITAS. Congratulations and a heartfelt thank you goes out to our Karen Stanley.
