VOLUNTEER

Get Involved

You may change a life, and your life may be changed forever..

CARITAS Volunteers open the doors of their congregation, they prepare and serve meals.  They work at the Furniture Bank sorting donations, stocking shelves and repairing furniture.  They share their expertise in Works classes helping us to transform lives.

Our volunteer program outlines as follows:

Shelter - Each hosting congregation recruits, trains and schedules its volunteers internally.  From time to time a hosting congregation requests outside support.

Furniture Bank - Numerous opportunities exist for on-site volunteers Monday through Friday between the hours of 9am and 4pm along with one Saturday each month.
Individual volunteers must be age 16 or older and are required to commit to a minimum of 20 hours and attend an orientation held each Wednesday at 1:00pm.
Corporate, civic and other groups are encouraged to volunteer with us; we offer many rewarding opportunities for teams.  Learn about our Dresser/Table Build project.
Off-site volunteers of any age can collect gently used household items (pillows, linens, towels, dishes, pots/pans, etc....) and deliver them to the Furniture Bank warehouse where they will be distributed to the formerly homeless community.

Works – Our students need your expertise to assist them with basic computer skills, resume writing and dressing professionally.
