VOLUNTEER

Volunteer at Works

Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization and our program – they give our students unique perspectives on the real world and help expose our students to a variety of professionals with whom they are apt to encounter in the workplace. They are instructors, coaches, trainers, shoppers, organizers, and administrative aides. Most importantly, they help our staff to leverage its capacity to serve out our mission. We are grateful for their willingness to share their professional gifts, and for their enthusiasm and very presence in our building.

Trained volunteers are invited to view our class calendar to determine dates and times that they can assist in the classroom as resume writers, computer lab coaches, or as mock interviewers.

The following are a sampling of current volunteer opportunities:

Job Search Coach
Provide interview practice in preparation for mock interview day.

Interview Prep Coach
Provide interview practice in preparation for mock interview day.

Mock Interviewer
Interview students in preparation for a “real world” job interview.

Computer Lab Coach
Help students grow in understanding of the basic function of a computer.

Resume Writing Coach

Business Clothing Shopper

Tailor
Provide professional hemming, tailoring ( waist, length, etc.), to help properly size clothes for our students.
